Easter was a few weeks ago, and every holiday in my family is a book-giving occasion. Usually my parents get me one book and some candy. But since I asked them not to buy me candy this year, my mom decided to get me multiple books instead. And then they also ended up getting me candy. 🤷♀️ I don’t know. But hey, I got books, so I’m happy!

Fruits Basket Another vol. 1 by Natsuki Takaya
You may remember from one of my book shopping trips that I just recently learned there is a companion series to Fruits Basket. Since Fruits Basket has been my favorite manga since I was in middle school, I had to have this.

How the King of Elfhame Learned to Hate Stories by Holly Black
Holly Black is another author I’ve been reading for ages, and I adored The Folk of the Air trilogy. I’m particularly excited for this because there are illustrations. And look at how gorgeous the cover art is! I can already tell that I’m going to fall in love with Rovina Cai’s art.

Tales from the Hinterland by Melissa Albert
I read The Hazel Wood a few years ago and really enjoyed it. But I wasn’t interested in picking up the sequel because what I really wanted were the fairy tales featured in the book. And Melissa Albert complied! This is another gorgeous cover that I’m already in love with.
